Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we handle on the heiwadojo.com website and by email, for what purpose, and what rights you have. The Hungarian version is authoritative.

Data controller

Krisztián Túsz, instructor of Wado-Ryu Heiwa Dojo (private individual). Contact: tusz.krisztian@gmail.com.

If you email us

We handle your name, your email address and the content of your message so that we can reply and arrange which session you’ll come to. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by sending the message (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

We keep emails for as long as they are needed for our correspondence, or until you ask us to delete them. Email is handled through Google’s Gmail service (Google Ireland Limited).

Running the website

The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver the site and keep it secure, for example to filter out attacks, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as IP addresses and request details. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the website securely (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Cloudflare may also transfer data to the United States, on the basis of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Google Ads, Google Analytics and cookies

We measure how well our ads work with the Google Ads tag (Google Ireland Limited): we count how many visitors click the email links used to sign up. We do not ask for consent to personalised ads or remarketing, and we do not use them.

We measure visits to the site with Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) to see what is useful on it: which pages are opened, where visitors come from, how far they scroll, which external links and sign-up email links they click, and the type of their device and browser, their language setting and approximate location (country, city). We only look at this data in aggregate. Google Analytics does not store your IP address, we do not link the measurement to Google accounts (Google signals are turned off), and Google Analytics deletes the detailed data after 14 months at most.

We only use cookies for these two measurements if you choose “Accept” in the cookie bar (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). The Google Ads cookie (_gcl_au) stays in your browser for up to 90 days, the Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_77F1N84662) for up to 13 months from your last visit.

If you reject cookies or don’t decide, the Google tag still loads on every page but does not use cookies: it sends Google limited signals (your IP address, the browser type, the address of the page you opened and of the previous page, the time, your consent status and, if they happened, the events described above, such as a click on the email link), which Google uses in aggregate to estimate results. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in measuring our ads and visits to the site (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)); you can object to it by email.

You can change your decision at any time with the “Cookie settings” button at the bottom of every page; if you reject after accepting, we delete the Google Ads and Google Analytics cookies. Google may transfer data outside the European Economic Area, for example to the United States, on the basis of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. You can read about how Google handles data at policies.google.com/privacy.

Data stored in your browser

We store your cookie decision in your browser’s local storage under the key “heiwa-consent-v2” until you clear your browser storage, so we don’t ask again on every page. If you switch language, a cookie named “lang” remembers your choice for one year, so the home page opens in that language next time. These are needed for the site to work; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Map

On the Contact page, the map loads by itself when you scroll to it. Your browser downloads the map data (streets, buildings) from OpenFreeMap’s servers (operated by Hyperknot Software Kft., Hungary; Cloudflare may be involved in delivering it), so the provider receives your IP address and technical details of your browser. According to OpenFreeMap’s own policy, it uses no cookies, its logs contain no IP addresses by default, and logs are deleted after 7 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in showing where the dojo is (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)); you can object by email. You can read about how OpenFreeMap handles data at openfreemap.org/privacy. The map is made from OpenStreetMap data.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, restrict its use, or give it to you in a machine-readable format (data portability). You can object to processing based on legitimate interest, and you can withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect earlier processing. No automated decision-making takes place. Send your request to tusz.krisztian@gmail.com – we reply within one month.

You can complain to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH, 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11; postal address: 1363 Budapest, Pf. 9; www.naih.hu), and you can also go to court.
